Named from the combination of ingredients within the cocktail, namely the hot peppers and blood oranges, this cocktail is deliciously refreshing with a bit of kick. If you haven’t ever seen blood oranges, you’ve got to try them. While looking innocent and orange-like on the outside, inside their flesh is a bright red hue that when extracted can leave your kitchen looking like a scene from a Quentin Tarantino movie.
2.0 oz whiskey
0.75 oz agave or honey syrup
4 oz blood orange juice
1/2 small jalapeno
blood orange slice (garnish)
In a cocktail shaker add ice, whiskey, agave (or honey syrup), blood orange juice and chopped up jalapeno.
Shake and strain into a rocks glass full of ice with the jalapenos and seeds strained out.
Garnish with blood orange slice and jalapeno (if you want it extra spicy).
