It’s been said that Cleopatra used a perfume infused with lavender oils to seduce Julius Caesar and Mark Antony which is precisely why it should come as no surprise that this cocktail will seduce your senses.
Made with a lavender-infused simple syrup and Dry Soda Co’s lavender soda, this Lavender Lemon Fizz is a beautifully easy beverage to serve at a summer garden party, brunch or wedding shower along with some lavender-infused parting gifts.
2 oz. of bourbon
1.5 oz. of lavender simple syrup*
1.5 oz. of lemon juice
1 bottle of Dry Lavender Soda
Fill a highball glass with ice. Mix in the bourbon, simple syrup and lemon juice and stir. Top with Lavender Soda and stir once more. Garnish with extra lavender sprigs, rosemary and lemon peel.
*To make the lavender-infused simple syrup bring 1 cup of water to a boil. Add in 1 cup of cane sugar and 1.5 – 2.o tablespoons of dried lavender buds which can be purchased at specialty health food and grocery stores. Make sure to use ‘culinary lavender’ that hasn’t been sprayed with harmful chemicals! Steep the lavender buds for an hour (or longer if you’d like a stronger taste).
