Bourbon Cocktail MAKE

STERLING SILVER

ABOUT THE STERLING SILVER

Sterling Silver is a modern classic which was created by Reece Sims for UVA Cocktail + Wine Bar (Vancouver, Canada) in 2019. During this time, I was working with UVA to create a feature menu for Gibson’s Finest whisky. The Sterling Silver is a split base tequila/rye cocktail that is a take on a mule. The name comes from Gibson’s Finest Sterling and Silver Tequilas. If you’re looking for a more spirit forward (and flavourful) alternative to a ‘moscow mule’, this is the cocktail for you.

INGREDIENTS IN THE STERLING SILVER COCKTAIL

  • 30 ml Gibson’s Finest Sterling Canadian Rye
  • 30 ml Blanco (Silver) Tequila (use something 100% blue agave!)
  • 15 ml Lime Juice
  • 10 ml Simple Syrup
  • 120 ml Ginger Beer
  • 3-4 dashes Angostura Bitters

HOW TO MAKE THE STERLING SILVER COCKTAIL

Add all the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice except ginger beer. Shake vigorously for 8-10 seconds or until chilled. Double strain into a collins glass (or sterling silver vessel) and top with ginger beer. Give it a stir to integrate the ingredients.
