Cocktail Irish Whiskey

THE WISECRAIC

The Wisecraic - Whiskey Muse

St. Patrick’s Day is just around the corner and because of this, I absolutely had to make a green Irish whiskey-based cocktail for the occasion. The day commemorates Saint Patrick’s feast day after bringing Christianity to Ireland. Today, while the day still celebrates this event, it is more often celebrated around the world as a day to celebrate the heritage and culture of Ireland in general (and to eat, drink and be merry… but especially drink).

Now The Wisecraic is a blend of Irish Whiskey, orange liqueur, lime juice, kiwi and ginger beer. The name includes the term “craic” (pronounced crack) is term to describe news, gossip, fun or entertainment. And I can’t think of a more entertaining drink to enjoy on March 17th than this one.

INGREDIENTS

1.0 oz. of irish whiskey
1.0 oz. of triple sec
0.5 oz. of fresh lime juice
4.0 oz. of ginger beer
0.5 kiwi fruit

INSTRUCTIONS

In a rocks glass add in kiwi fruit. Muddle the kiwi fruit until it becomes a paste consistency. Add ice and pour in irish whiskey, triple sec and lime juice. Stir ingredients once. Top with ginger beer and stir a second time. Garnish with a lime slice and serve. Slainte!
