American Whiskey MAKE Tennessee Whiskey

THE GUNSMITH

ABOUT THE GUNSMITH

The Gunsmith is a cocktail inspired by the classic Corpse Reviver with a modern twist. The key focal point of the cocktail is the Gunpowder Green Tea infused Jack Daniels. After reading through Dave Broom’s “Whisky: The Manual” we found that Broom recommended Jack Daniels and green tea as a good pairing. The result of this infusion is a complex flavour profile of sweet, tannic, earthy, herbal and honey. Benedictine and Absinthe accentuate the herbal and honey notes while the Lillet Blanc and Lemon juice help to elongate and add balance to the drink. The resulting cocktail is a completely unique flavour profile that you’ve never experienced. The best part? The cocktail is equal parts so whether you’re making it for one, or a group, it’s simple but a crowd pleaser.

INGREDIENTS IN THE GUNSMITH

45 ml Gunpowder Green Tea infused Jack Daniels
45 ml Lemon Juice
45 ml Benedictine
45 ml Lillet Blanc
1-2 dashes Absinthe
Lemon Zest

HOW TO MAKE THE GUNSMITH

In a cocktail shaker, add all ingredients (except absinthe and lemon zest) with ice. Shake for 15-20 seconds or until adequately chilled and diluted. Before straining into your coupe glass, add absinthe to glass. Swirl around to rinse the glass and discard remaining absinthe. Strain mixture into the rinsed coupe and express lemon oils over top.
