Canadian Whiskey MAKE

The Franchise [Cocktail]

Today is the day! It’s Monday, September 20th and officially election day here in Canada. To celebrate, let’s raise a toast to the franchise (aka our right to vote).

While 2019 and 2020 have been challenging, to say the least, it’s important for us to exercise our right to vote in order to make our voices heard. Voting means you’re choosing how you want your tax dollars being spent and that you’re either supporting the status quo or an opportunity for change.

This cocktail follows the ‘Spirit Forward Cocktail Ratio’ and features a number of Canadian-based spirits and modifiers – check it out below.

Ingredients:

30ml Forty Creek Barrel Select washed with Chocolate Tim Bits Cereal*
22.5 ml Gosling’s Black Seal Rum
15 ml The Woods Amaro
15 ml Artemisia Herb Liqueur

Method:

Add all the ingredients into a mixing glass with ice. Stir for 45-60 seconds until chilled and diluted. Strain into a coupe and enjoy after you’ve voted!

Additional Notes:

To make the Tim Bit Cereal washed whisky, add 1 cup of cereal and 1 cup of whisky into a bowl… have a great breakfast! Just kidding, add those two components together into a mason jar and shake vigorously. Let sit for 30-45 minutes. Fine strain out the cereal and enjoy!
